Where we've been since Thankgiving till Christmas day and 2 days after...

Hey everyone!!!! well, you've probably been wondering where we've been. i'm usually a regular blogger but since a week before thanksgiving the kids and especially joseph have been SICK!!!!

it all started about a week before thanksgiving when joseph began waking up in the middle of the night; finally the monday after thanksgiving i took him in to the pediatrician. at first i thought "maybe he's going through a growth spurt" b/c he didn't have a fever or any sign of sickness. but when the doctor checked his ears the left seemed to be getting over an infection so he was put on antibiotics. and to add to the ear infection pain he also had 4 teeth coming in. but after 2 days on the antibiotics he started sleeping through the night again.

exactly a week later juliette complained that her left ear hurt so i took her in and they said it was just some clear fluid and to give her tylenol. 2 days later joseph started getting canker sores on the outside of his mouth and he stopped sleeping through the night again so i took him back into the doctors. this time he had stomititis (sores and ulcers covering the entire inside of his mouth; gums, throat, cheeks) and still an ear infection. so he was put on a stronger antibiotic. so, he pretty much ate yogurt and applesauce and some juice for 5 days until the sores started to heal and he could eat solids.

then exactly one week from this doctors appointment joseph had his 9 month check up and along with that i decided to take juliette with me b/c 2 days before she started to get a bad cough so i was thinking maybe she's getting bronchitis. well, the pediatrician said joseph ears looked great and his mouth looked much better but juliette on the other hand didn't look so great. her lungs sounded fine but both her ears were infected. so now she was put on antibiotics. (and what i thought was so funny was that juliette hadn't complained about her ears hurting since that monday a week 1/2 earlier). so, as of today she is just fine and it seems the antibiotics did their job.

well, joseph seemed to be getting better until tuesday when he started fussing again and slept the entire day away. wednesday (christmas eve) came and he was playing and having a good day so i thought "oh, he's fine." then christmas morning came and he wasn't feeling fine anymore - he was so fussy that i decided to take him to a children's urgent care.

when we got there we were registered and then taken into great care by our very own primary president "nurse" trudy!!!! it was such a great comfort to me and joseph that she was there taking care of us. unfortunately joseph's happiness went away when they stuck him in his leg with a shot of antibiotics for an ear infection that had come back into his left ear and a new one in his right. we then went back yesterday and today for 2 follow up shots and hopefully a happy ending to a very long month of sick kids.

so, there you have it in a nut shell. we still had a good thanksgiving and christmas! and we want to thank trudy!!!!!! for taking good care of our little joseph!!!!

and as of today the kids seem to be doing great!!! they're playing, laughing and jumping everywhere. and just so you know we have to go back one last time to the pediatrician next week to make sure both joseph and juliette's ears are safe for traveling b/c we're going up to NY for 2 weeks on the 6th of Jan.
