Time Trials, 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Swim Meets

about 5weeks ago juliette became a cricket cyclone and holy cow is she the cutest little fish i have ever seen! let me take you through a few pictures and videos of each meet. she has come so far in just 5 weeks it's almost unreal.
Time Trials: this was her very first time on the block, getting ready to hear the beep to jump in. she is just so little compared to all the rest!
this is the first time i had ever seen juliette swim the length of the pool w/o stopping. i was so incredibly proud of her! i especially love her little cheer section (audrey and joseph) awaiting her at the end. her time Girls 6 & Under 25 Yard Freestyle, 1.07sec.
just before the start of her first ever swim meet, Cricket Cyclones vs. Hanarry West
time: 53.59
13.84 sec. faster than the week before at her time trials :-)
2nd meet, Cricket Cyclones vs. Evergreen. juliette and grace before staging. this was grace's first meet. both girls did awesome!
as you can see juliette is getting ready to do backstroke. now mind you she had only done the backstroke once in practice and while i was dying of laughter at the practice b/c she looked hilarious doing it wendy was hitting me b/c she thought juliette looked like she was going to drown.
the video i took of her 25 yard backstroke doesn't look like much so i stopped at 30sec. but right after i turned the video off her coach started yelling to her "put your chin up!" which she did and all of a sudden her backstroke looked kind of normal. however, this week she went to stroke practice and by the end of it she was going almost all the whole length of the pool doing the backstroke, w/o stopping, and w/o sinking into the water. can't wait till she gets another chance to swim backstroke in a meet so i can show you. till then here is her first attempt:
i'm not sure what her time was for this race but boy did she get a super loud cheer when she finally made it to the end. again, so proud!

this was juliette's 25 yard freestyle at the same meet later in the evening. her time was 55.65. she came in 5th place and actually scored some points for the team! go juliette!! (sorry for the side view)

Swim Meet #3: Cricket Cyclones vs. Flowers Crossing

25 Yard Freestyle time: 44.71, taking off 8.58 from her previous best at her 1st meet.
and last but not least 1/2 of her 8 & under 25 yard freestyle relay. this was juliette's first relay and let me tell you, she was so nervous! she couldn't comprehend what she had to do and why she was swimming with 3 other people. as i said it was for the next age group, 8 & under and she was the youngest in her relay; the other 3 girls were 6 and 8 years old. they did a great job! oh, and sorry about only getting half of the relay. forgot to turn the camera on till juliette got on the block.
